Diane is an impact-oriented philanthropy executive with expertise driving programs to improve outcomes in health care, education, and social services. She has a successful track record directing effective grant allocations up to $40M annually, plus extensive experience in: building and leading teams; setting and aligning organizational strategy to program operations; grant making; program evaluation; capacity-building; and board development. Diane has been recognized for a collaborative leadership style with the ability to manage up and down the organization while navigating ambiguity and partnering with diverse stakeholders up to the trustee level. She has deep functional knowledge in health care delivery (including hospitals; women’s health; nursing), and consulting expertise drawn from top-tier professional services experience and as a trusted advisor to 100+ nonprofits.
Diane draws on extensive for-profit and nonprofit management experience, including over 25 years of consulting focused on organizational transformation of philanthropic organizations and nonprofit agencies. Most recently, Diane led the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s efforts to improve the experience and outcomes of patient care and served as a member of Senior Management Team and Executive Team. Responsibilities included strategic oversight of investments in diagnostic excellence and medication safety in the community, plus management of the award-winning team exploring high-quality, community-based care for high-need patients.
Previously, Diane served for six years as a member of the senior management team at the Robin Hood Foundation while working as the Director of Management Assistance. She also worked, at various times, as Acting Program Officer for Early Childhood programs, Education programs, and Youth & After School programs. Diane previously worked as a strategy consultant at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. She also worked as an analyst and subsequently an associate at Morgan Stanley & Co. and completed a summer internship at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Diane earned her master’s degree from the Yale University School of Management, where she was selected as a teaching assistant for graduate level economics and finance courses, and an AB in Human Biology and French Studies from Stanford University.
